The Spring and Summer Shows have begun with shows in Paris, NYC, Milan and London. These are considered the Big Four although there are also shows in Madrid, Berlin, Amsterdam and Copenhagen.

After the post Covid Revenge Fast Fashions the upcoming looks are settling back into my comfort zone with more subdued fashions. As far as style “Classics” rule the day! Designers are actually focusing on timeless pieces that will last for years. I am thrilled with this direction dating back to Coco Chanel designs where the Chanel jacket was meant to be an investment piece worn for years to come.

Linen is one of my favorite fabrics for Summer. But it is also a fabric that many people avoid because of the wrinkles. What is a drawback to some people is exactly what makes others love the look, me included. For as long as I can remember I have loved the classic crumpled look of linen.

I often get comments such as “it is easy to have style if you have money’ or “beautiful but not in my budget”. Throughout my life, I have been a firm believer that style has nothing to do with money. You can choose your clothing from the Salvation Army and have remarkable style.

Sweater Dresses use to be viewed as body hugging garments that require the perfect figure to pull off the look. But that is not the case in 2022. Sweater Dresses have become so popular that there is literally a style for every figure type. Sweater dresses go from classic to bold and everything in between. You can find many loose styles that hang straight on the body and hide a multitude of figure flaws.

There is an excitement in the air and a lot of it has to do with clothes! When I was a kid back to school shopping was so much fun. I got excited about everything, whether it was my new shoes or my new backpack. I even got a good feeling from those perfectly blank pages in my shiny new notebook

We develop our Style by putting together what we see in others that feels comfortable to us. There is no completely unique Style. We have all learned from each other and in using what we have seen in a way that works for us we develop our own Style.
