Wearing the Right Shoe and the Right Pant….
Wearing the right shoes with an outfit makes a big difference to the style you achieve. Knowing what shoes to wear with pants can be especially challenging depending on the pant length. Pants need to either be short enough to wear with flats or long enough to wear with heels. Starting your day in pants that are trouser length and wearing heels means that if you want to switch out of heels and put on flats those same pants are going to be dragging on the ground. So does that mean that you need to own pants for heels and pants for flats? Well for me until now it did. But this summer I found two pairs of pants that actually work beautifully with flats or heels. The cut and the ankle length make them a perfect choice for either look.
The Talbots Hampshire Pant comes in many colors and became my go to pant this year. What a pleasure it was to have a pant that worked for every look. I feel the same way about Chico’s Brigitte pant. This pant also works well with heels or flats and has an easy slimming pull on style while being incredibly comfortable.
So what about the shoes. At my age the perfect heel is 3 inches or less. If you are looking for a lower heel this is the year for you. There are several new heel styles that will be the perfect choice for these ankle pants. Nine West has come out with a shoe called “ The Workin Pointy Heel Pump with a 2.76” heel.
A low block heel is a good option if you still want the style of a heel without the height and a lot more stability.
