What’s coming in Fashion for 2023-2024?
After the post Covid Revenge Fast Fashions the upcoming looks are settling back into my comfort zone with more subdued fashions. As far as style “Classics” rule the day! Designers are actually focusing on timeless pieces that will last for years. I am thrilled with this direction dating back to Coco Chanel designs where the Chanel jacket was meant to be an investment piece worn for years to come.
Currently, there is a growing movement of designers who are choosing to focus on slow fashion. that is about buying fewer, better-quality clothes that are meant to last. Designers understand that people are simply looking for clothes that are better made and that will last longer. Slow fashion brands use high-quality materials and construction, so their clothes are more durable than fast fashion clothes. Slow fashion brands also focus on creating timeless pieces that are not trendy, so you can wear them for years to come.
Gender-fluid fashion is also on the horizon. Gender-fluid fashion is about breaking down the traditional boundaries between men's and women's clothing. More and more designers are creating gender-neutral collections, and more and more people are wearing clothes that they feel confident and comfortable in, regardless of gender.
More inclusivity is appearing in every brand. The fashion industry is becoming more inclusive, with brands offering a wider range of sizes and styles to choose from. This is a positive development, as it means that more people can find clothes that they feel confident and comfortable in.
I am excited about the fact that technology is playing an increasingly important role in the fashion industry. For example, some brands are using virtual reality and augmented reality to help consumers try on clothes before they buy them. Virtual try-ons allow you to see how clothes would look on your body without having to put them on. This is done by overlaying a digital image of the garment onto a live image of your body. In addition, you can now try things like makeup and glasses online before you buy them.
Designers have been showing us their latest designs at Fashion Weeks in NYC, London, Milan and Paris this month. But the pieces you will see in your local stores are not yet a reflection of all that is yet to come. It typically takes four to six months before you will see these designs in your local stores.
Fashion is ever changing and there are many exciting things coming our way with something for everyone.
