2024 Fashion Week Review

The Spring and Summer Shows have begun with shows in Paris, NYC, Milan and London. These are considered the Big Four although there are also shows in Madrid, Berlin, Amsterdam and Copenhagen.

Why is Fashion Week whether in NYC, Paris or Milan even relevant to the average woman? If you have ever watched a video or seen the photos in Vogue of the designer shows you have probably wondered how any of these outrageous outfits can relate to the average woman. You have probably asked yourself who the heck would wear these clothes? Well, actually in all likelihood you will.

Fashion Weeks showcases the cutting-edge designs and trends from renowned fashion houses and emerging talents. While most collections aren't directly wearable for the average woman, they serve as a source of inspiration. Elements like silhouettes, colors, textures, and styling ideas of the top designers trickle down to mass-market retailers.  These ideas are what you will be seeing in your local fashion stores from Ralph Lauren to Target.

The action is not all on the runway the “Street Styles” outside the shows that are captured by bloggers and photographers play a significant role. These images showcase how fashion enthusiasts interpret and adapt runway trends to their own wardrobes, providing the average woman with relatable style inspiration.

So, what can we expect to see at shows this month? Predicting Trends can be tricky but based on Fall/Winter 2024 collections and emerging street style. There is a lot of buzz about Minimal and Sustainable Fashion. A trend away from fast fashion back to classic pieces that will last for decades. This trend is all about effortless sophistication and quality over quantity. February's Fashion Weeks promise to be a thrilling showcase of creativity and innovation, offering something for everyone's taste and style.
